Created exclusively for Kilmartin Museum in Scotland, Kilmartin Quest is a bespoke activity book and museum guide that brings history, archaeology, and ecology to life in a format that's fun and engaging for kids. Our central goal was to ignite a passion for learning about the history of Kilmartin and to transform every museum visit into an immersive adventure.
This project was a delightful opportunity for us to enjoy the creative freedom of full-project management, all while working to a superb brief. A couple of joyful weeks were spent illustrating, designing, writing, and supplying the finished printed products.

Packed with interactive activities, Kilmartin Quest challenges kids to decode the ancient Ogham alphabet, solve mysterious anagrams associated with the Coll Hoard artefacts, construct miniature monuments, and weave their way through themed mazes, among other standouts.
To enhance this exploratory museum experience, we also created a bespoke, colour-coded map, guiding our young adventurers through the museum's ten distinct areas.
Along with bespoke mascots such as Bard the Boar and Finn the Otter, our original illustrations and creative copy introduce a host of engaging educational games and colouring activities, injecting an extra dose of fun into the museum visit.
The book also features vivid illustrations of artefacts from the museum's collection, brought to life through our fact-to-image matching games.
The design effortlessly integrates the museum's branding and rock art motifs, offering a seamless blend of the old and new. Plus, in line with Kilmartin's commitment to preservation, we've used FSC paper and vegan vegetable inks, creating an eco-friendly activity book that families can enjoy guilt-free.
The activity book is available for purchase from the Museum shop in the newly renovated Kilmartin Museum. It promises to extend the learning and fun beyond the museum's walls, providing an immersive educational experience.
